Tzedakah House is proud to conduct its third annual September food drive to benefit a variety of our non-profit clients, including, but not limited to:
Christian Community Action
Community Soup Kitchen of Torrington
Connecticut Institute For Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI)
Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen
Fellowship Place
FISH of Northwestern CT
Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS)
Mid-Fairfield AIDS Project
New London Homeless Hospitality Center
The Open Door Shelter
Pacific House
Prime Time House
The food drive will run the entire month of September and we are looking for your help in donating canned goods (meats, soups, tuna, stews, chili, fruit), peanut butter, tea bags, coffee, rice, granola, cereal bars, baby food, and more. Personal hygiene items (razors, shampoo, deodorant, soap) are also in high demand, according to several of our clients. We can also accept gift cards in lieu of physical items.
Please be sure to check the expiration date on any item you are donating. Cans that are severely dented cannot be donated. Please also note that pull tabs are preferred for canned goods, as not everyone has access to can openers. TZH will be purchasing can openers to donate.
For companies that are interested in joining us in 2024, we will be creating flyers to distribute and offering to help pick up the donations from your location. For more information, please email Luke Devoe at luke@tzedakah-house.com or call 203-387-2266.
Thanks to the companies and partners who donated in 2023, including, but not limited to AMWINS, Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Canaan Distributors, Central Auto Auction, Centrix,
Coffee's Country Market, Excelerate Performance, Hamilton Connections, MetLife, PackEdge,
Richard Manufacturing, and West Hartford Lock Company.
